Born in 1977. Live in Paris.

After studying photography, art and art criticism in the United States and France, Marcelline Delbecq gradually moved away from image as such to concentrate further on the film, and even photographic, potential of writing. Her use of narrative and voice have created a universe put into words, which summons up a set of mental images, shifting between documentary and fiction, past and present. In her sound installations, publications and public readings, words question perspectives and become in turn images themselves.

Marcelline considers Silence Trompeur, with Bertrand Schefer (Ricard Foundation, January-March, 2015), as her last exhibition. She now devotes her time mainly to writing and to the performing arts, as well as to teaching at the National Superior School in Versailles and at the Paris College of Art.

After working with choreographer Rémy Héritier on the project Here, Then; she is currently working a film of still images.
