Integration and initiation

Training courses for mixed audiences
Training courses for mixed audiences

Projects are developed in partnership with regional social, health and legal institutions thus allowing a wide audience to access culture as a lever for integration. We work in synergy with our partners, ensuring that participants develop cultural practice and further embrace their city via the discovery of contemporary dance and the Choreographic Centre.

TRAINING COURSES FOR MIXED AUDIENCES

— February 20th to 3rd, 2017

Autumn training courses (dates to be determined)

Since 2014, the Hérault Penitentiary Service of Integration and Probation, the association Via Voltaire and the Choreographic Centre have been working with Rita Cioffi to offer initiation courses in contemporary dance to participants. Two courses a year (lasting eight days each) give offenders in detention, vulnerable persons and students in law, psychology and art, the opportunity to work together. Informal meal times foster exchange between participants. A presentation of work achieved at the end of the course crowns the collective effort and creates a common goal. Experience gained during the course provides participants with such essential skills as staying power, the capacity to build a professional project and self-confidence, while culture acts as a lever for integration.
