What do you think of choreography today?
(No answer)
What are you working on, and/or what is on your mind?
I like the idea that of being a specialist of all and nothing at the same time; this means you are free to work on anything you like.
Which artists have been important for you? (all fields combined)
—What have you learnt or discovered from them?
Albert Wong, for his physical and mental preparation techniques for Wu Su (traditional Chinese martial art). Christine Gérard, for her instinctive and highly-skilled approach to composition. Hervé Robbe, for his sense of space and body architecture. Alban Richard, for his use of improvisation.
How do you see the relationship with audiences?
I see the audience as an essential play partner for choreography.
What is missing today?
Well, we are certainly not lacking in ego today... and in this context, we need more altruism, generosity and community spirit.
