ICI—CCN is part of an eleven-member, European network, Life Long Burning, which provided support to three artists who performed in Montpellier in September. The artists can be seen at four public events which demonstrate the essence of the network: collective workshops, designing a coherent context for each artist, moving, provoking exchange and encounter, are the driving forces of the creative approach.
From Romania (Sergiu Matis), Israel (Laura Kirshenbaum) and Belgium (Lisa Vereertbrugghen), the artists reveal a patchwork of artistic practices, while inventing new styles and techniques. Sergiu, through in depth exploration of physical and digital archives, Laura through the potentialities of fantasy and Lisa via a range of sound styles and hardcore techno dance music. A wealth of research which opens up fresh horizons for choreography.

Interview with Sergiu Matis and team on the creative process
Maybe more desirable futures will come from new bodies? After condemning the irreversible damage of global warming in Extinction Room (Hopeless.), Sergiu Matis provides his artists with the means to navigate between alternative worlds via eco-feminist, sci-fi literature. The hybrid, visionary bodies encompass new possibilities, not to run from reality but to re-enact the present.

Interview with Laura Kirshenbaum and team on the creative process
At the crossroads between nature and the arts, the garden offers dancer and choreographer, Laura Kirshenbaum, an ideal haven of exploration. The setting embodies a vibrant multiplicity of life forms, stories and movements, all stealthily linked together in the same ecosystem. How can physical events be converted into a body of knowledge to be shared? A subtle web is woven through a complex landscape of sound, movement, song and archive material, engendering rapport between the human and non-human.

— CELEBRATION (création 2023)
While exploring the connections between folkdance and techno during her residency, Lisa Vereertbrugghen organised a Gabber workshop: sensual and rhythmic, dominated by a hardcore impulse to physical activation while awakening political potentialities, porosity and sweetness. There are only two prerequisites: wanting to dance and the readiness to see music and techno dance differently.
