Art and dance courses
— Art and dance courses at Lycée Jean Monnet - Montpellier
ICI—CCN is a partner of the dance Baccalaureate at Lycée Jean Monnet and supports the optional and specialised dance arts courses from the first to final years of secondary school. Artistic dance education combines practice and theory, experience and analysis, thought and action. Throughout the year, students practice with professional dancers and choreographers and benefit from a rich programme of performances, visits and lectures.
— Workshops for teachers and Baccalaureate examiners
ICI—CCN designs and organises two annual courses, calling on artists and choreographers whose research resonates with the art and dance teaching programmes. Carried out in partnership with the Montpellier Academy, this project is part of a continuing education initiative for teachers and juries.
— Collective projects
Since we can't give you an exhaustive account of all the projects we've been working on throughout the season, we've chosen to present just a few that we think reflect what we like to do, share and co-construct with you.
— Choreography and early childhood
ICI—CCN supports the discovery of dance, art and the body initiated in nurseries by the Pôle Enfance of the city of Montpellier, with the Action d'Espace - François Rascalou company. Since 2018, this partnership has been offering toddlers, their parents and nursery staff a time to explore their mobility with dancers and choreographers. With a view to cross-fertilisation and social diversity, this project includes crèches close to the CCN or located in neighbourhoods covered by priority urban policies.
— La chambre d'écho (The echo chamber): the CCN exhibition space
Since 2016, La chambre d'écho has been an exhibition space for artists and works that have unique links with choreography. Two or three exhibitions are organised there each season, offering the public an opportunity to explore the evocative power of choreography through visual and plastic arts practices. For example, the Écho dans ta classe mediation project invites students (whatever their level) and their teachers to explore how visual and plastic materials inform what we call "choreography". Echo in your classroom is being co-constructed with Aurélie Bouin, a literature and dance teacher at Lycée Jean Monnet in Montpellier, and the National Education referent for ICI—CCN as part of an Educational Service.
— Programme for students in the specialised dance cycle at the Regional Conservatory in Montpellier
The ICI—CCN team is committed to supporting young people embarking on a professional career in dance, and has designed a programme of performances, workshops and meetings with artists to help them develop a contemporary choreographic culture and an understanding of the professional world.
— A season with us
To help pupils from secondary schools in and around Montpellier discover the performing arts, ICI-CCN is working throughout the season with our partners at the National Opera Orchestra in Montpellier, the National Centre for Dramatic Arts in Montpellier and Montpellier Danse, to build a spectator pathway through different art forms.
