Residency (in/off) FRAME

. 20th May to June 2nd → as part of French May Arts festival, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts organise a residency led by Chistian Rizzo for students at the Academy.

In 2024, Dance Reflection by Van Cleef & Arpels continues to pursue its commitment to transmission and education and is once again organizing workshops in collaboration with the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. As a result, students of the Academy will have the opportunity to attend a two weeks long course, led by Christian Rizzo.

During his workshop, Christian Rizzo will experiment with his students using a setup of screens and cameras to create a two-fold danced fiction both on-stage and on-screen. The artists will work with different overlapping viewpoints—both in-frame and out-of-frame — and investigate the dancer’s movements with respect to the viewer: the audience or the camera. During an open studio performance co-presented with The French May Arts Festival, the audience will discover a live/filmed dance piece, with a simultaneous choreographic proposal.
