Bryan Campbell (Paris)
His creations combine choreography, song, images and text. Curiously queer, they proclaim the infinity of possibilities while at the same time wielding the codes of power. After studying at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, then at the CCN Montpellier's ex.e.r.ce training programme, Bryan Campbell settled in Paris. As a performer, teacher, choreographer and performer, he is committed to disparate states of the body and to multiplicity.

Deep Cuts is a solo that transforms into cycles of song. It's also a sadomaso-ecological story, a pastoral work for modern times, a drunken dance of desire and destruction. From his studio, Bryan Campbell stalks the woods like a bondage partner. But can a tree consent? Can a body become a tool? The friction of this rough eroticism provokes thought: what if our ecological crisis was the consequence of a failed contract with nature?

TOPO Evening - Submersion Games

For Submersion Games, Bryan Campbell takes on Moby Dick. He looks into the relationship we have with work, non-standard sexualities, ecosystemic complexities and the desire to find a different world. With the help of singer-dancer Olivier Normand, he offers readings from the novel, songs from the forthcoming creation and film screenings.

Open to all, with no pre-requisites, this monthly workshop for adult amateurs is an opportunity to meet, through their work, the artists who are involved with ICI this season. The dance club invites you to experiment a wide range of practices, creative processes and warm-up rituals, with a focus on the precision of choreographic writing.
